The vineyard estate of Rieder is situated in the beautiful north-eastern hills of the Weinviertel in the Veltlinerland, one of Austria’s most prominent wine regions. The Grüner Veltliner, Welschriesling, Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc are among the main varieties of Rieder company. The Estate is a family business with around 25 hectares of grape vines where the family has been involved in viticulture for generations. The convergence of modern technology and wine-making practices is expressed in the high quality of the special wine variety.
Rieder winery accompany the grapes from the vine to the wine with the greatest possible care; because the quality arises in the vineyard, in the cellar they can only maintain it.
Rieder winery cellar is at the highest level thanks to the combination of tried and tested methods and new technology. When vinifying their wine, they attach particular importance to cleanliness, careful processing and controlled fermentation. The wines are then stored in stainless steel tanks to keep them fresh.
The great tradition of enjoying wine is particularly enjoyed in the Weinviertel. Austria’s largest wine-growing region is not only characterized by its idyllic cellar lanes, but also by a unique variety of varieties.
The Grüner Veltliner is one of the most famous varieties in our region.
It is a variety with a spicy taste and great variety. We exclusively produce this variety as a refreshingly light country wine , peppery Weinviertel DAC and distinctive Grüner Veltliner . Our range also includes sparkling wine with Grüner Veltliner as the base wine.
Chardonnay – This white wine variety reflects the good soil of the vineyards. Our variety of Chardonnay ranges from classically fruity quality wines to sweet Trockenbeerenauslese .
Welschriesling – The variety typical for our region is freshly developed and fruity and dishes such as fish or white meat are served. The Welschriesling from the Rieder winery is characterized by floral aromas and tasty, fresh acidity . At the Heuriger it can be enjoyed as a good snack.
Yellow muscatel – This old and very high quality variety is known for its intense nutmeg bouquet. The fine fruit nose of white peach and Zirtusnoten the nose and in the taste distinguish our yellow muscatel from.
Neuburger – This is a very rare variety in our growing area. In general, this grape variety has a nutty taste. Our Neuburger encourages drinking pleasure through the taste of red apples on the palate and a good acid structure .
Pure Riesling – The most widespread variety in Austria is characterized by stone fruit aromas typical of the variety, such as apricot . Our Heurigen guests describe the pure Riesling as tasty, firm and straightforward . Real drinking fun for every wine connoisseur.
ROSE – Our rosé is vinified from Blauer Portugieser grapes. The first scent is dominated by rhubarb and strawberries . When enjoyed, the taste of red berries conquers the palate. Due to its fine interplay of sugar and acid , it is particularly recommended as a starter wine .
Young Flo – The young wine cuveé typical of our company is vinified by our young winemaker. It is made up of the Chardonnay, Gelber Muskateller and Neuburger varieties . A fresh, light young wine with fine muscatel finesse .
This 2021, Winery & TOP-Heuriger Rieder has joined Asia Awards 2021 – Wines & Spirits Competition and won two Gold Medal Award and a Silver Medal;

Interview of Mr. Florian Rieder – Winery owner
Question 1: Do you already export to Asia? If yes, where? If no, what type of importers & distributors are you looking for in Asia?
We currently only sell our wines in Austria and Germany. However, I think it’s time to expand. Our winery consists of a young, motivated team who are always looking for new opportunities and challenges. The potential and motivation is great, so we are looking for importers who also have big plans. With our new modern winery, built in 2008, we can produce larger quantities with high quality.
Question 2: What is the most unique and qualitative part of your products, different from competitors?
What is unique about our products is that the family is there to help with every move. Be it in the vineyard, winery or bottling. Everywhere attention is paid to the highest quality, which is reflected in the wines. Our young team keeps coming up with new ideas so that we can work more sustainably and efficiently.
Question 3: When did you start to export your brand worldwide, and what is your development plan for the next years?
I took over the winery from my father in 2019, which was the starting signal for the marketing of our wines worldwide. My thought is the Asian region has a lot of potential and is more open to young new winegrowers from Austria. This year, of course, I would like to start exporting to Asia and expand more and more over the next few years. It would be my dream, in a few years, to give many people around the world a nice, enjoyable moment with my wines
