Spolert Winery : Friulian Wines of Tradition with Respect of Nature

Spolert Winery is a Friulian winery, born as a result of the restructuring and recovery of an ancient company that already produced wines. It is a new winery in its guise and ancient in its heart, in fact its own name designates the hearth: the production of indigenous wines takes place in full respect of environmental sustainability.

Riccardo didn’t inherit this place, he arrived here out by passion.

“My relationship with wines stems from my fascination of all which is contained and guarded. When I taste a qine, it excites me to think of the enological tradiotions of the place where it is produced, of the diversity of the terrains and the work of the man, namely the fully expressed Terrois.”

After an important experience in Montalcino, in Friuli Venezia Giulia, I found a stately and magnanimous plot, capable of giving versatile and complete wines, with an intense imprint of the place.

“Cleanliness and balance with respect for nature”

The company is a historical reality of the territory that produces wine for over 50 years. The recent change of ownership has improved its style and quality. Sustainability, not only environmental, is the mantra that guides us every day.

The approximately 8 hectares of land are all in the municipality of Prepotto, a historic village nestled between the Prealpi Giulie Natural Park and the Upper Adriatic Riviera, it represents an important wine-growing area and is part of the Friuli Colli Orientali DOC denomination.

High quality wines are produced, which can be tasted after long refinements in cement, amphorae or barriques. The varieties of wines made available by Spolert Winery are two characteristic whites (Friulano and Ribolla Gialla), a Rosso (the famous Schioppettino di Prepotto) and a rosé (from Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso).

Very recently, Spolert Winery  has been recognized and awarded Two Gold Medal by Asia Import News Wine & Spirits Awards 2020.
